MARA DRISCOLL
Mara Driscoll was born and raised in Boulder. She trained in ballet at Boulder Ballet and in modern dance with 3rd Law Dance Theater. She continued her dance training at the North Carolina School of the Arts and began her professional dance career at the Richmond Ballet in Richmond, Virginia.
Mara moved to New York City in 2009 to attend New York University. She has performed with numerous New York-based ensembles, including Armitage Gone! Dance, FJK Dance, Ian Spencer Bell Dance, Galletto Dance, and others. Mara joined the Metropolitan Opera Ballet in 2016. Mara's choreography has been presented at the Phillips Collection in Washington D.C., the New York German Society, Dance at Socrates, the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, New York Theatre Workshop, and the Center at West Park.
Alongside her career as a performer, Mara is the Program Director at Accent Dance NYC, where she co-produces multicultural performances and educational programs in New York and Westchester County. She also co-produced "Love, Medea" at the Center at West Park and "Travelers" for Artists By Any Other Name.
Mara has again been Boulder-based since COVID-19 caused theaters to close in mid-March. She is loving reconnecting with the Boulder arts community, spending time with her family, and brainstorming ways in which the arts can adapt to and overcome hardships and limitations caused by the pandemic.
